'Exxxxcellent' (said while rubbing hands with mysterious yet evil look). I shall rub away, as you say. Although, now I have to wait for it to get here via Canada Post. Maybe I could hand stitch myself a king size cotton sheet in the meantime to have a rubbing cloth ready. With our postal service, perhaps I might have time to stitch up two! Soon I shall be UNCLOGGABLE!!! WooOOOooOoooo hOoooOooOOOOooo..... The new Clog Pruf is here!! The new Clog Pruf is here!! Ok. Granted - it doesn't take a lot to get me excited. But, it is for me a new razor after all!!!! My first TTO single edge actually. I have avoided them in the past feeling a little like Paris Hilton " they are simply too common dahling"! However my dreams are realized!!! I can polish all the live long day! Yep - you fellers wuz right. That thar razor is solid brass through and through. No wimpy plating on that sucker! Just polish away - yup. I had a shave with it and I don't know what I was expecting, but not really what I got! The shave is, well, 'active' with that razor. You know full well there is a blade up against your skin when using the ClogPruf. No doubt about it!! The blade chops and carves right swell in that holder. Ayup - 'active shaving'. I think I rather liked it. I managed nary a nick too! But, the shave was not quite as close as I would prefer. I am mixed on that though - because it seems like most areas are very well shaved. There are just spots I thought I had got well, but they had some stubble left. Just gotta pay more attention I suppose. I shall keep up the investigation and see where it fits in. But, after an hour worth of polishing ( : it looks DYNAMITE!!! If gold could look so good.

Congrats Wayne ;D Happy you found a muse for your ...um condition : - P I have heard the bullet and clog proof were milder than the OC ( but then most razors are milder than the OC ) so that may be the reason for the "active" shaving. good luck and post some pictures when of that DY-NO-MITE razor all polished up when you get the opportunity

The MicroMatic is next on my must have list, followed by a Featherweight.

LOL The micromatic isn't my favorite, but it isn't anywhere near as bad as its reputation would have it. You will be fine.

Not overly impressed with the first shave with the MM. It was a very close shave, just not as comfortable as what I get with the Juniors or the G-Bar yesterday. I feel the slightest bit of burn now, about 6 hours after using it.
Not giving up on it, who knows nesxt time it might be perfect.

I like to use the MMOC after a few days beard growth I find the open comb makes it easier to shave the built up stubble than a bar style razor. I honestly haven't used it more than 3 times in a row though as I agree with others that there are smoother shavers out there for everyday shaving but for those couple busy or lazy days were you let your beard grow it is one of the best safeties you can use IMO good luck with your next shave

I used to not shave on the weekends, and I don't even have to during the week when I'm working since I'm not in uniform, but I'm having so much fun with this newfound hobby that I shave every day. Is that pathetic?

No.. we all (OK.. most of us) have gone through that. I used to look forward to the weekend to not shave. Now I look forward to the weekend to have a longer and more relaxing shave. Shave daily... sometimes twice... it happens

Fuzzy The MMOC takes some practice. You have to pay alot of attention and take your time to drive it. but the shaves are outstanding when it all comes together. Keep at it. Fuzzy

"Yep - you fellers wuz right. That thar razor is solid brass through and through. No wimpy plating on that sucker!"
Question:
Are all Micromatics that are of a "goldish" color solid brass, or just certain models? If just certain models, which ones, what years?

DD I think that any of the MM are brass... some are just plated and some not.. so if you get one that is not plated you should be ok. Fuzzy
