At the risk of having things thrown at me... let's talk about the lowly Micro Matic. I have shaved twice in the last week with an antenna tip clog pruf. Great shaves both times. These things take more care then other models, but if you take your time and watch your technique it can give great shaves.
The Open Comb is another beast altogether. But it also gives great close shaves with the proper amount of care.
So what do you folks thing about these razors?

I love my beat up open comb micromatic it is what got me into using SE razors ^_^
After trying the MM I bought a Damaskeene but I do not like the flip top blade holding system. Doesn't feel secure enough for my liking.
Which is another reason the MM is awesome the TTO style is genius and feels very safe. Some don't like the aggressiveness of the open comb but that's exactly why I love it so <3
Haven't got to try the bullet or clog proof yet but since I don't like flip top SE that pretty much leaves me with really old and hard to find razors like the LC's and the Gem MM so I will try them soon enough ;D

I very generous offer kind sir. I will hold off though as I am not in a position to be able to return the razor anytime soon thank you though.
I would very much like to know though, how the clog proof compares to the open comb?
Is it milder in your opinion?
Does the bar perform better than the comb?
Also the bullet, is the only difference the knob?

Don't fear the open comb. It is on a par with the Clog Pruf in performance. :)Both great shavers IMHO. The older Micromatic's are the most maligned razors on all the shaving forums for the simple reason that most guys don't know how to use them. Bloody sissies.

Micromatic .. this is my "go-to" razor I am puzzled why so good razor has a bad reputation among wetshavers. I`m use Open Comb version, but like and Clog Pruf and Bullet tip. Micromatic is wonderful razor for me, with this razor i was started my SE adventure... Sometimes I am sorry that I not live in USA, to find out earlier this razor

I would say the clog pruf is milder and easier to use. The Open Comb really takes a lot of attention Well worth the time though. I have never shaved with a bullet tipped one. But I do not think they are much different.l Fuzzy

MM, clog proof, open comb. Junk as far as I am concerned. Glad that someone out there likes them. If I come across a free one sometime or for just a few $s I'll get it and put up here for like $100. Why not, you guys seem to love them so you should pay through the nose for your follie.

Lol this attitude towards them is exactly why I wanted to try the challenge and why I got mine free Honestly gives one of the best shaves. Thanks fuzzy for your opinion on the clog proof I guessed that it would be a milder shave Abyssos- what is different from the bullet compared to the clog proof or open comb in your opinion?

Abyssos- what is different from the bullet compared to the clog proof or open comb in your opinion? Most mild is bullet, next is clog pruf and open comb. But, i`m a straight shaver and prefer open comb version, which is too close to a straight

I tell ya I usually have good experiences with the MM OC but this past Saturday, I must have forgotten how to use it. I got tore up. I find the clog proof a good razor but milder than the OC MM. I am not a fan of the MM bullet though. That one just does not work with my mug(face).
