Monday 2/8
Semogue SOC LE #23 La Toja Stick J.A. Henckels Rapide Pella Gem (3) La Toja AS
This razor rocks! I did something different today. Part of my preshave routine is using the Oil Cleaning Method as a face wash and preshave while in the shower and then it gets washed off before I start the shave. Today I also applied the oil mix at the end of my shave. I left it on while I did my other "getting ready" activities so my face would soak it in. Then, I applied after shave as normal. My face is really smooth and moisturized. I may do this for the rest of the week in place of the witch hazel that I usually use right after the shave and see what happens.

No water, no shave. Had a water line break from like Saturday a couple blocks from my house. The water pressure was somewhat weakened but still able to shower and shave. But on Monday I got a bit busy in the morning and did not get a chance to shave. By the time in the afternoon I did give it a try the water company was working on the water line break and had turned off all my water. Good excuse isn't it for not shaving.

G-Bar. Williams with Aqua Velva added to lather bowl. Idea came from B&B. Omega badger. Personna/Walgreens blade that has 1 shave too many on it.
Decent shave but the blade didn't help, started to change it out midshave but gutted it out. Kinda like the AV/Williams combo.

Tuesday Night:
GEM Featherweight razor GEM/Personna Stainless blade
Semogue 1305 boar brush Cella Crema Sapone da Barba (soft shaving soap)
Thayer's Original Witch Hazel (Astringent: 10% alcohol, no -parabens, no burn)
At this point in my SE experience, it appears that I can squeeze 3 shaves out of a carbon steel blade. The first one-to-two shaves are glorious, while the third has clearly deteriorated. The third shave is still a good one, however. With a stainless blade, I get 4 shaves, or 5 if I really push it. The stainless blade is clearly duller from the start, so it's a more disappointing shave all the way through.
I think I'll stick to carbon steel for my SE shaves.

This may be the last shave for a couple days. Going to dermatologist to have a lesion removed from my neck just behind and below my ear. So I decided to enjoy my shave today. Here goes:
- Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
- Brush: The Ever Roddy 300
- Cream: SCS Very V
- Razor: 1950 Eversharp-Schick G1 Injector
- Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated injector (shave1)
- Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
- A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner & SCS Savory Rose ASM
- EDT: SCS Very V
- Result: Thanks to Kevin (specialk) I got a chance to try the Ted Pella injector blades. To say I got a great shave is an understatement. One of the best BBS shaves with little or not effort and absolutely no nicks, cuts or weepers. Of course the SCS Very V was a great deal of help with this shave as well with its excellent lather. Now I have to add some Pella blades to my order from TSD. Thanks Kevin for your generosity with the Pella blades. They are just great.
