Thursday Night:
GEM G-Bar SE razor Treet blade (carbon steel)
Semogue 740 brush (pure badger, acrylic handle) Art of Shaving, Unscented, shaving soap
Thayer's Peach Witch Hazel (Astringent: 10% alcohol, no -parabens, no burn)
A GEM SE razor, a fresh carbon steel blade, a wet-but-tight lather (for enhanced beard-softening and lubricity), and a very light touch all come together for a very good shave.

So what do you get when you cross one of the more feared (but not really bad) SE razors with a fairly worthless blade? Saturday:- Soap: Prarie Creations EO Blend
- Brush: Semogue LE #56
- Razor: Open Comb MicroMatic / generic made in Korea SE blade (day 1)
- A/S: WH followed by Aqua Velva Ice Blue
You get a meh shave. You know, I really hadn't planned on shaving today. I was going to take a day off and let my skin have an off day. I feel like I just went through the motions of shaving. OK.. it is a good enough shave - DFS on left side of neck and just close enough to pass on the right.

Gem G-Bar New Walgreens/Personna blade Bigelow cream Omega badger WH followed by Old Spice
Very nice shave. I started very gingerly with the Stanley blade I found in my toolbox. It didn't feel too bad, just not quite right, and I didn't want to butcher my face so I ditched it for a new blade.

OK.. yesterday's shave with this blade was meh... today was truly bad. Although no blood loss, it was an agonizing shave. I stuck with it for a three pass shave and then shaved again with something else because the results were too sub par. The drugstore/grocery store rebranded Korean blades usually work out to 30 cents a blade. They are only good for one shave. If I get the most expensive local blades (CVS at 60 cents a blade) I can get 3-4 shaves giving the price per shave of 20 cents or less per shave. I should have listened to Fuzzy say to leave those blades alone.

Sunday Night:
GEM G-Bar SE razor Treet Super Single Edge blade (carbon steel)
Semogue 1305 brush (boar) Cella Crema Sapone da Barba
Thayer's Peach Witch Hazel (10% alcohol, no -parabens, no burn)
I really like this razor, and for me carbon steel is the only way to go in SE. I do pat the blade dry, air dry it further, and hand-strop it after the shave and before the next.
I'm finding Cella and boar to be the perfect combination. While Cella tends to aerate rather quickly with badger, boar produces a tighter, denser lather from this soap. In the case of AoS/Valobra, I prefer badger, so each soap has its dedicated brushes.
