Monday, January 4, 2010Razor: Gem Junior Blade: Ted Pella (2nd Shave) Brush: Shavemac D01 Horn Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Soap: Cyril Salter A/S: Pashana Aftershave My 2nd Gem shave was not as smooth as the first. While I achieved a very close shave, I think I took a little skin off along with the whiskers. I must have been using too steep of an angle. In any case, I do enjoy the auditory feedback...it reminds me of my Futur and Vision in that sense. My SE technique though needs a little refinement. The Pashana aftershave was a nice finish.

About that auditory feedback bullgoose. Shouldn't it be that the Futur and Vision remind you of the GEM Jr shave? ;D
You will get the hang of it as you practice. Just like when you started using a DE. Take your time and think about the angle for awhile and soon it will be automatic.

Tuesday 1/5 - VDH Deluxe Boar
- Colgate SS (Thanks my friend!)
- 1907 Gem Junior Bar
- TP Gem (1)
- Topcare WH
- Old Spice AS
The Colgate was very nice! It provided a very thick and creamy feeling on the face from the lather. Colgate seemed to make their shave soap with lots of moisturizing skin care goodies on par with say a VDH rather than a Williams. Not that Williams is drying just Colgate seems more moisturizing IMO. Still breaking in this brush so I had some lather issues but I was able to make it work. Overall, a great shave resulting in a BBS finish.

I think that it shades the Williams on my like list by just a little.. other then it is not made anymore. I used an OLD today...so no SOTD post. Fuzzy

- Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
- Brush: Ever Ready C40 boar
- Cream: SCS Oakmoss & Lavendula
- Razor: '50 Eversharp-Schick G1 Injector
- Blade: Eversharp-Schick Injector of the same vintage (shave 3)
- Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
- A/S: Haslinger Wellness Sandalwood After Shave Balm
- EDT: SCS Oakmoss & Lavendula EDT
- Result: Looks like I have found a keeper razor. Easily becoming my favorite SE razor, the G1 Injector. Great BBS shave, no blood and the blade seems to be as good as new. Need to get some drug store blades, from CVS to see how they work. Gonna keep using the razor until the blade wears out.

Come to realize that I didn't contact my phone and internet service provider to have that account updated  so yeah after resolving that matter I got the joy of repeating the call back to the other company. I was exhausted and I didn't even leave the house

AHHH what a nice shave. The Toms Cream is a touch of heaven in a tube. Pair that with the warming of the scuttle and the result is outstanding lather.
