I didn't realize the Pal's are three faceted until I went back and read it again. I'm curious about the PAl's but I haven't found anywhere around here that sells them. I can get the Treets and Blue Stars at several places for less than $4 for 10 blades. I'm just wondering how the three facet Gem blades that TP sells compare to the ones sold at retail stores. But, I've got enough blades stockpiled that I don't need any for probably 2 years so I don't really know why I'm thinking of buying more! That is the way most of us think about things.. i got all kinds of stuff but always looking for more... I guess it never ends. Fuzzy

Thanks to Fuzzy I have 5 of the PAL Carbon Steel blades to try in my SE razors. Just finished with shave 5 and that I find is the limit for me for this blade.
First shave was absolutely fabulous. Took off a two growth of whiskers without any problems at all. Very little buffing needed. Nice sharp blade, on par with my Pellas.
Second shave was quite a bit different. Three day beard growth and I had a heck of a time getting close even after 3 passes. Need a major buffing pass to get near BBS. I was worried about this blade for sure. Only thing I can say is that this blade can't handle a longer beard growth.
Shave 3 was much better than the second. Done with only one day beard growth. Needed some buffing but not more than normal for me.
Shave 4 the blade seemed to tug a bit at times, maybe it was me, but I did get a BBS shave.
Shave 5 was quite nice. Thought that I might make the BBS again today and that the second day was just an anomaly. Seemed to be fine shave but about half an hour after the shave I felt some stubble left behind when I rubbed my face against the grain. So it was indeed a DFS and one that I am happy with. This done with a two day growth of whiskers.
I liked the blade and even thought I had to dip it in alcohol after each shave to keep it from rusting that process is tolerable considering that I got good shaves with the blade. I think that the blade has a problem with a bit of extra whisker growth. More than two days and it has a hard time giving BBS shaves.
Will limit myself to max 5 shaves with the blade and will use it again on occasion in my SE blade rotation.
For those of you out there who only require a DFS this is a very good blade. For those who are like me and require a BBS all the time, this blade will work but it will take a bit of extra effort.
On a scale of 1-5 I rate this blade a 4.
Thanks Fuzzy for the blades.

I've found the carbon steels to be better if I use them as everyday shavers rather than waiting for my beard to gain any length at all. Without that platinum coating that the Gems have they really seem to tug at the whiskers--and painfully so. If the stubble is short I don't notice this. Curiously enough they seem to be smoother when executing XTG strokes than they do making WTG passes. Was that with all the blades or the Pella's or the local bought PALS? I used a PAL that I picked up local to take care of a months growth and it did super good this afternoon. (Before and after pics posted elsewhere here.) Fuzzy Fuzzy that was my experience with both of them.
