I can get a Wester razor in a case from an antique dealer but I don't know how much he wants yet. He just got it in a lot from a 99 year old man that's got a house full of antiques and hasn't set a price yet.
It looks very similar to the Henckels Rapide and says it was made in Solingen Germany. Razor and case are in very good condition,as is the wedge blade. It looks like it will take a modern SE blade.
I have no interest in owning it but if anyone wants it I can get it for you. Any idea what a reasonable price is for one of these?
He also has a really nice Rolls in the same lot but the handle is missing. He's going back to look for it. If anyone wants it I can also get it. I got one for cmur12 from him for $20, but this one might be more since it looks to be in slightly better shape.
Like I said I won't buy these for myself but will be glad to for anyone that wants them.

I haven't been able to find anything on a Wester safety razor. Straights, yes... but not one of these. Anybody have any info to share?

Thanks for the links. I forgot to try stropper.com. SpecialK does have some awesome Rapide pics in his SOTD posts. I had been seeing them on eBay but I wasn't interested. Then he gets one and starts posting and now I can't find one.

Very Kind of you to offer this, HoosierTrooper!!!!!
Yeah I would be interested too if the other guys decide not to go for it. I am especially interested in the wedge blade.
Gentlemen in my humble opinion, it is a GREAT razor plus it looks so darn cool!
Here's what I found, ALL credit to Wait's Compendium.... There is a Wester Bros., Soligen Germany and a Wester Bros. Cutlery Co., NY,NY. The NY company was an importer and sold a hoe type SE wedge blade razor based on the Scharff 1894 patent.
Ernst Scharff of Frankfort, Germany filed a patent in 1891 in Germany and then in 1892 in US which was granted in 1894. Description: SE wedge blade, comb guard, blade held by wire loop raised by rotating ring on threaded shank. The handles were marked Ernst Scharff / Frankfort AM / Germany / Rapide
After the patent expired in 1911, a similar design was used by Henckels, Safacto, Wester, Wostenhom, and others.

Sorry it's taken me awhile to get back on this but he takes care of the 99 year old man and his 89 year old dad so he hasn't been around the last 2 days. talked to him just now, He wants $15 for it so I'm going to swing by and get it. I'll put a picture of it when I get home.

WooOOOOoooooOOOOHOoOOOOoooOoOoOOo!!!!I AM ONE HAPPY PUPPY!!!!This is without a doubt my lucky day!!! Great looking razor. And, it is going to have a very special history in my collection now! I am just blown away that you are doing this HoosierTrooper!! And, I am so glad I am the lucky dawg!! WooOOOhhooo!! I PM'd you with details and such. I probably said like twelve times in the PM that I am sooooo excited about this!! I will probably be walking around on air for a few days (I am not that hard to entertain if it involves razors!) for sure. If everyone can wait patiently, (because Canada Post, once they get their mitts on it, can take forever to get stuff here) I will clean it and buff it and love it up some. And then, I will slice some stubble off and let everyone know how it feels!!!! Thank you HoosierTrooper - YOU ARE THE MAN!!!
