Thursday, August 11, 2011- Prep: Hot shower, California Baby face wash, hand strop blade
- Lather: Real Shaving Co. Sensitive + glycerin
- Brush: Frank Shaving Fine Badger
- Razor: Ever Ready 1924
- Blade: Walgreen's Gem (8), 2 passes
- Post: WH + alum splash, Aqua-Velva Ice Blue, hand strop blade
- Cold water shave
2 new things with this shave; my first shave with the Ever Ready '24 and the Real Shaving Co cream. I think the blade may be ending it's life as there was some tugging that I don't normally have and I doubt that it's from the razor or cream. So it went into the blade bank and I'll do the same setup for my shave tomorrow to really see. The '24, however, lived up to the hype when it comes to the sound it makes and the efficiency with which it cuts. What an enjoyable shave even with the slight tug noticed in my problem areas.

Friday, 12 August
Gem MM Clog Pruf CVS Blade (3) Made-Rite 500 PB Brush C.O. Bigelow Cream Vi-Jon Ivy Club Classic Splash
Saturday, 13 August
Gem MM Clog Pruf Gem SS/PFTE Blade (1) Made-Rite 500 PB Brush Euro Palmolive Cream Pinaud Clubman VI Bay Rum
I've gone through my remaining CVS blades so I'm back to the SS/PFTE Gems. I must say that the carbon steel blades performed admirably for me. Since I recently got a pack of Gem Blue Stars, I'll be getting back to them in the very near future. ______________ Jeff

Friday, August 12, 2011- Prep: Hot shower, California Baby face wash, cork & hand strop blade
- Lather: Real Shaving Co. Sensitive
- Brush: Frank Shaving Fine Badger
- Razor: Ever Ready 1924
- Blade: Walgreen's Gem (1), 2 passes
- Post: WH + alum splash, Aqua-Velva Ice Blue, hand strop blade
- Cold water shave
My 2nd shave with the '24 and I must say this razor devours facial hair. I may have to reserve this razor for when I have at least 2 days worth of growth as the amount of blade showing here really makes for a close shave. I definitely could not use this as my daily razor, but when there's a jungle that needs de-foresting then the '24 will be battling with the OCMM for that honor and privilege. I'm not sure if it's the shorter handle or not, but I feel like I can control the OCMM better. So maybe just some more practice with the '24 will allow me to wield it more frequently. Due to user error I did get a pretty good nick on the very bottom of my nose, but the rest of the shave was just super close and amazingly comfortable. Saturday, August 13, 2011- Prep: Hot shower, California Baby face wash, hand strop blade
- Lather: Real Shaving Co. Sensitive
- Brush: Frank Shaving Fine Badger
- Razor: Gem MM Clog Pruf
- Blade: Walgreen's Gem (2), 2 passes
- Post: WH + alum splash, Aqua-Velva Ice Blue, hand strop blade
- Cold water shave
My first shave with the CP in a long time and I have to thank Jeff for inspiring me to get back to it sooner rather than later. What a comfortable and close shave. I had a very close shave yesterday with my Ever Ready 1924, so much so that I thought about not shaving today. But then I saw the CP and I went to work on an easy 1 pass + touch-up for another DFS with zero irritation.

OCMM Treet Carbon Blade (thanks Fuzzy) TOBS St James Shave Stick Omega Boar Brush (not sure of the number, it’s a short one with a black and clear handle) Razor Rock TOBS # 74 AS
Nice close Sunday shave with the OCMM. Normally I use Williams and AV on Sundays, but today I tried the shave stick and the 74 AS. Just felt like something different today. A pretty good combination though. I'm really starting to like these carbon blades.

Another wonderfully close & comfortable shave with the CP. My skill with the SEs has definitely improved. The last time I shaved with the CP before this week was when I first started using SEs about a month ago. With seeing this improvement I'm going to revisit my 1912s this week sometime as I didn't care for them the first time around. I also can't wait to get back to the OCMM this week too.

Thanks, Brian

Back to the computer problems. to make it simple I will not try to catch up on the SOD. I have been using some other razors this last week that could not post here anyway.
