Hi ya! Glad to have another connoisseur of the original safety! Looks like you've got a great setup there. How do you like those Durhams?

The Durhams are very interesting. They look very cool. I purchased some modern Durham dog grooming blades (same shape as the vintage Durham safety razor blades) and attempted to shave with the shavette style Durham. I only tried one initial "cut" and felt a tremendous pull on the hairs of my beard. I will not be attempting any more shaves with the Durhams. But again, they sure do look cool!!!!!!!!!! The handle of the other Durham is currently paired with the head from the Feather travel razor. It fits perfectly and I prefer the bigger, heavier handle over the skinny travel handle. KP

Welcome aboard. Funny you should mention the Durhams. I saw one for sale in antique store yesterday. First time I ever saw one. It was a 3 piece DE razor, not the shavette type. It was pristine in the original case. Didn't buy it though, wasn't sure if I wanted to shave with carpet blades.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. So, far my best shaver is the Gem Junior with the fat bakelite handle. The angle of the hoe style head with fat cone shaped handle is a great combination for me. I just received a new addition to the family today from ebay - a never used Gem Feather Weight!!!! I will be posting a review as soon as I shave with it. KP

The treet is a solid handle and has a more clog pruf style safety bar. You might want to pick one up if you like the Gem. Fuzzy
