Monday, 6 June:
Gem FW Gem SS/PFTE Blade (5) Made-Rite 500 PB Brush Proraso Cream Barbasol Pacific Rush
In preparation for a hot, muggy (i.e., normal) St. Louis June morning, I went with the ultimate in cooling sensation: Proraso followed up by Pacific Rush. Got my usual mild shave with the FW. ______________

Gem OCMM Gem Stainless Blade Valobra Shave Cream Omega 49 Boar Brush AV Blue AS (Glass Bottle)
As usual, very close shave from OCMM. The Valobra takes some getting used to. It works great but it has the consistency of putty.

Clog Pruf MM Gem Stainless Blade Vulfix # 5 Boar Brush Derby Lemon Shave Cream 4711 AS
Had to work a double shift then home to bed. Woke up with a pretty heavy stubble. Drug out the Clog Pruf and whisked right through it. It's hot here so I thought I'd go with the Lemon cream and 4711. Nice and cooling. I like these Vulfix brushes. Very inexpensive and real good quality.

Gem 1912 Gem Stainless Blade Vulfix # 1 Boar Brush Cella Soap/Cream? Old Spice Lime AS (Shulton)
The Cella is much like the Valobra. Both smell of almonds, though the Valobra seems to have a mediciney undertone. The Cella also has the consistency of putty. Both of these are Tallow based but I think I prefer Williams. Ordered some Arko, just haven't gotten around to trying it. The Old Spice is great. There is a big difference for me between the new and old version. I prefer the old Shulton version.

Been away since Wednesday and I am ashamed to say that I took a Bic Sensitive disposable with me on this trip instead of an SE. Just wanted a real change of pace for awhile. But I am back and used the SE today. Here is the blow by blow of today's shave.
- Prep: Noxzema Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
- Brush: ER C40 Boar
- Razor: '12 Ever Ready SE
- Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated SE (shave 3)
- Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
- A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner & SCS Savory Rost ASM
- Result: A tremendously great BBS shave. The Bic does not do shaving justice when compared to a great SE razor such as the ER. Glad to be back to using the SE.
