You're determined to make me use my Gem Junior Bar. I was actually thinking about giving it a go. I don't reckon one shave will hurt it and I do have some Ted Pella GEM SE blades...

Razor: Rolls Razor Brush: 7609 Cream: TOBS Lavender AS: AII Osage
Squeeze 3x. 3 pass. Thick 1-2. Shed 6. Total 78.
Shave #99 with Rolls. Same as yesterday. Slight stubble is felt but otherwise decent shave. Took awhile lathering though as it kept falling off. Left a couple dollops undone and had to go over them.
Brush wasn't flaccid it splayed just enough to get job done.

Razor: Rolls Razor 2 99x Brush: 7609 Cream: TOBS Lemon Lime AS: AII Osage
Squeeze 3x. Thick 1-2. 4 pass. Soft texture. Lathered quick 30-45 but had to go over and make sure no cream was left untouched which took awhile.
Only cream that managed up to 4 passes compared to the rest. Texture was soft too.

I guess you could say that Jody but the choice is up to you. What I would suggest is that you look for another one that has more "character", ie, its been used and get it to shave with. I have a Gillette Tech DE razor that I bought when I first started collecting and using vintage razors that is in its original box, still has the little cardboard like blade, and a dispenser of the Gillette Blue blades in it. Looks like it never was used. I got is so cheap I just had to have it. Never used it because I have two other Techs to use. So I know where you are coming from. My only feeling about yours is that you seem to really prize the razor but are not willing to "spoil" its value by using it. You are missing the experience of using one of the greatest shaving implements known to man and the resulting great shaves. Find and "ugly" one use it.

First shave with this razor. No nicks or cuts, Excellent shave from a very mild razor. Took the blade out and dried it off. See if that extends its live a bit.

- Prep: Noxzema Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
- Brush: Knotty Roddy Chubby refurb with TGN Grade A Silvertip Badger knot
- Cream: Tabac
- Razor: '02 Kampfe Bros Star Lathercatcher with short handle
- Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated GEM SE (shave 3)
- Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
- A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner
- EDT: Tabac EDT
- Result: Excellent BBS shave with the ol' Star. Had a lot of blood last time I used this razor. Guess it was the blade that caused it. This time was just fine. This one is more aggressive than the other one I have.

Razor: Rolls Razor Brush: 7609 Cream: Palmolive Deluxe AS: Booster Ice
Squeeze 3x. 3 pass. Lathered quickly. Was airy at first due to water oozing profusely but managed a decent lather. Not as thick as I'd normally like it to be but ok enough for a shave. Barely 3 pass but not necessary.
Shave #100 with Rolls. Not as close a shave as others but not bad either.
