I used to be able to pop in and check out the site without logging on, but now I always have to log on when I visit. Did something in my settings change or is this how it works for everyone?

I wonder if your cookies get cleared now? Have you updated/changed a virus program? Perhaps you have a dynamic IP and it changes and the forum doesn't recognize you. A few things could do that I suppose.
My account is working fine - I just show up and it recognizes me, like usual. If I clear my history or cookies though it won't and I have to re log. Good luck!

I run ccleaner several times a day which clears cookies, but I did that before. Until recently I could come to the site, click on forums and the site would open but I wasn't logged on, it would always show 1 guest. I still see "guest" sometimes, so apparently others can just come to the site and see it without logging in.
Something changed and I can no longer do that, I have to login just to take a quick peak to see if anything's new.
At the time of this post it shows me and 1 Guest, and 26 Guests in last 24 hours. I'm assuming guests are people not logged in, just window shopping.

I used to be able to check in from my work computer and lurk, but I now have to log in in order to access the forum. It has been that way for the last month or two.

Who are these mysterious "guests" and how do they get here? Inquiring minds want to know.

It has been that way for the last month or two. - Murray I think I get what you guys are talking about. I noticed a couple of weeks ago, on a different computer I borrowed, that it is not possible to read in the forum without logging on. This means of course that guests cannot read in the forum - people must first create an account or they are not able to get in. It may turn away many potential people if this is how it is set up. I would think there are people who will not create an account simply to see what is inside. How long has this been the case?? I wonder too about what HoosierTrooper is saying - about the guests that are recorded. Are these guests who were able to read in the forum, or, are they recorded as guests merely by accessing the index page, whether or not they can get any further? Maybe these are counts of the numbers of people who show up at the doors but are not able to get in?

I do not know how long this has been. Not sure how to fix it.
