Good Friday
Razor Gem OC Micromatic Blade Gem PTFE coated Soap Mama Bear's Irish Tweed AS Proraso
First shave with both micromatic and mama bears. Micromatic impressed me... a few tiny nicks from a careless ATG pass, but an exceptionally close shave.
Verdict is out on mama bears... great lather and scent but my face was burning slightly during the shave. No sign of irritation, so I will try again with it.

GEM Micromatic Open Comb Gem/Personna 1st use Mama Bear's Spellbound Woods Omega badger brush I've now managed to get two good shaves withthe MM OC, but I don't see that it does anything better than the 1912, G-bar or my current favorite the Featherweight. And I know I go slower and more cautiosly with it than the more familiar models. Since I don't have a heavy beard I'll probably not use it very often. Sure miss my fat handle Jr...

-Badger Brush with Wood handle and no label-it was a gift 1950's -TOBS Almond Shaving Cream -Gem Jr. -Ted Pella Blade -Aluminum Block -Lab series after shave lotion
-outstanding shave. I discovered wet shaving about 3 months ago and developed a very serious vintage razor habit-I have about 20 old Gillette razors, a Merkur 38C, an Edwin Jagger modern razor, several Ever Ready razors, a Gem Micromatic, a Gem 1912, a Gem G-bar, and this Gem Jr. (fat plastic black handle) is giving me the smoothest shaves with the least trauma to my face. I will still rotate my razors because I really like variety.

- Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
- Brush: Ever Ready 50 N Boar
- Soap: Tabac (my favorite)
- Razor: 1907 GEM Jr Lather Catcher with wooden handle
- Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated GEM SE (shave 2)
- Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave OIl
- A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner & SCS Savory Rose ASM
- EDT: Tabac EDT
- Result: A great BBS shave with no blood today. The right cheek is healing from the bad Pella blade of a few days ago and the nick on my upper lip is doing fine too. A couple days off from shaving did the trick. Love the scent and the lather from the Tabac. The little '07 GEM Jr is one of the best SE shavers I have used.
