This is a 1901 head. Will it accept new style blades? Attachments:

The " Gem" razors of that era used wedge blades, but the " Gem Jr. Bar Razor" was specifically designed to use the thin, reinforced back blade similar to those we use today. The Gem Jr. Bar Razor is my favorite safety razor. After >55 years of wet shaving and trying many different DE's, SE's, injectors and cartridge razors, it has become the only razor I use. Load that razor with a Gem PTFE coated stainless blade and experiment with the angle (Almost drag the blade pressure clip on your face) and you will likely soon find that you are getting the best and most comfortable shaves of your life. Regards, Tom
