Monday 12/28 - TGN Silvertip
- TGQ Oank & Moss SS
- Valet Autostrop, Model B (Canadian)
- Feather SE (1)
- Topcare WH
- Anherb Gel
Rough shave this morning. I should have a hand stropped the feather a few more times. This particular model B is very aggressive too.

First, thanks to Kevin for starting this week's SE SOD thread. I was busy, busy, busy and forgot to do my job!
Here goes my SOD for today.
- Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
- Cream: SCS Very V
- Brush: No Name Boar - Blue & White
- Razor: '02 Kampfe Bros Star Lather Catcher
- Blade: Ted Pella PTFE Coated GEM SE (shave 2)
- Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
- A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner & Nivea for Men Extra Soothing ASB
- EDT: SCS Very V
- Result: A wonderful bloodless BBS shave today. Only problem was with the lather, seems that the SCS cream is a bit hard to make good lather from with the boar brush. Got a very thin lather like from too much water. And SCS creams love water. Guess I have to experiment a bit more with SCS cream and boars.

Tuesday night before work
1911 Gem Junior PAL Super (D-2) Lather Monster Boar Williams Mug Shaving Soap Old Spice AS Old Spice Cologne (before leaving for work.)
Another good shave from the PAL blade. I am drying the carbon steel blades after use to see if that helps them last longer.

Wednesday 12/30
Semogue 1305 IM Stick Wilkinson Sword 7 Day ‘Empire’ Razor with wedge blades Topcare WH Lucky Tiger AS Speick AS Balm
Tried the Wilkinson wedge blades out and got a decent shave but not real close and it was mighty rough. They are definitely not shave ready. Used a DE {gasp} to take it down to BBS but the irritation was already a result from the wedge blades. The combo of Lucky Tiger and Speick really helped calm the fire.

Wed
1912 OC Gem Gem Blue Star (D-3) Lather Monster Brush The Body Shop Old Formula WH English Leather Black ASB English Leather Black Cologne
TBS Old Formula is really a great cream. I am glad I have stashed a fair amount away. The 1912 OC with the Gem Blue Star worked great for another shave.

- Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
- Brush: The Ever Roddy 300
- Cream: EJ Sandalwood
- Razor: '50 Eversharp-Schick G1 Injector
- Blade: Eversharp-Schick Injector Blade of same vintage (shave 1)
- Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
- A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner & SCS Savory Rose ASM
- EDT: SCS Aspect EDT
- Result: This razor is, well, to be understating my first impression, fabulous. I thought that maybe it would shave like a '12 GEM and I was right. Even the old blade worked very well. Needed all 4 passes today, especially the Oil (touchup) Pass, I think because of the blade. Need to look into some slightly sharper blades. Anyway, I got a BBS shave without any blood at all. I love this razor and consider it one of my favorite SE razors.

Sunday, January 3, 2010 -1st Gem Shave
Razor: Gem Junior Blade: Ted Pella Brush: Shavemac 2007 LE Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Soap: Irisch Moos Shave Stick A/S: Taylor Luxury Sandalwood Gel
My maiden Gem shave was a resounding success! The Shavemac worked up a great lather from the Irisch Moos stick...enough for four passes plus touch-up. I was probably a little more cautious than usual due to the fact that the head geometry of the SE is different from a DE. This caution may have been unwarranted as I enjoyed an irritation free BBS shave aided no doubt by the sharpness and smoothness of the Ted Pella blade. The TOBS Sandalwood Gel was the perfect finish.

Open Comb Micro Matic Gem Blue Star (D-1) Burma Shave Boar (first use) Burma Shave Soap (Woohoo) WH Pinaud Classic Vanilla AS Pinaud Lime Sec Cologne
Bit of a rough shave. I am not sure if it was the new soap brush or blade.. or if I was just heavy handed with the MM. It was a good close shave. Just a bit of redness on my lower neck. Not use to that at all. Fuzzy

It sort of reminds me of a combination of C.O. Bigelow and Valobra soft soap [/li][/ul]
