Which of the lather catchers will accept new style blades? I'd hate to get one just to find out that I couldn't use it.

I know the 1907 Gem Junior Bar does...That's the only one I have and use. I'm sure more knowledgeable folks will be along shortly.

All the ever ready's will I believe.. and the Gem Juniors I think they were started in like 1900.. could be wrong.. But my thinking is that if it says Gem Junior on it then it is for the modern blades. I have had a 1900 1908 1910 and 1911 they all take them.

The oldest LC that I have is a 1902 GEM and 1902 Kampfe Bros. They both take the newer SE blade. I believe that from that date on you can use the new style blade.

some brands going as far back as 1900 will. ER and superior come to mind. the dr. scotts electric razor from the early-mid 1890s MIGHT take them although it was designed for wedge blades only.

Definitely with the two Lather Catchers on the left and possibly on the one at the right.

The two razors on the left are bar razors. All the bar razors use "modern" SE blades. The razor on the right appears to me to be an Ever Ready. (I may be wrong on this ID.) If it is an ER, they all were designed to use the "modern" blades.

I think they made the disposable SE blade to retrofit into those old razors. That's why they were so big, to fit into a spot made for a wedge blade that had to be that big to be resharpenable.
