Does anyone know whether single-edge razors (Gem and/or Schick-style injector razor) are still being manufactured anywhere? Does anyone know when Gem ceased to make single-edge razor-holders? It seems odd that the blades themselves continue to be made, but, apparently, not the blade-holders. It seems odder still that those of us who appreciate the virtues of single-edge shaving must rely upon a technology that is no longer in production.

I guess the good part is that they were built so good.

The razor in question looks like a S/E,but uses a D/E blade. It is very poorly made and I would rather eat a Dung Beetle sandwich than actually use it. It's an absolute shocker.

Greetings all! To my eternal red-faced shame I must confess I've been neglecting this new forum. So glad that the SE razor is getting the respect it deserves.
The SE is my sole razor of choice now and seeing this thread piqued my interest. It's a pity they aren't in current production by somebody but I must say that I'm not surprised. Indeed I'm more than a little shocked--but very happy nonetheless--that GEM branded blades are still available in your local Walgreens.
On a side note, I think SE razors are experiencing an uptick in popularity. I just sold three to a guy off the website recently--a GEM 1912, a GEM fluted MicroMatic, and an Ever Ready travel kit. All very nice specimens indeed.

They all work good for me. Fuzzy
