Here, as requested, are the pics of my grandfather's I1 Schick. I didn't shave today so I'm looking forward to seeing how this injector handles a 2-day growth in the morning. Actually, I may not be able to wait that long and may shave tonight!

Moved this out of the SOD thread for you. ;D
That looks a lot like my Pal Injecto-matics.. they are an awesome razor. I really love the shave from then. The handle is very good as far as grip and such also.

Nice "sexy" looking razor. Hope it shaves well for you.

Thanks Fuzzy & Possum. It does shave excellent. Some of the smoothest shaves I've ever had were the 2 I've done with this razor. I was thinking it was the PTFE coating, but my new SE PTFE coated blades aren't as smooth as this injector is.

I was thinking it was the PTFE coating, but my new SE PTFE coated blades aren't as smooth as this injector is. They are good razors. I have not used the coated blades in any of my injectors. But I have several other blades to choose from. They all seem to work well. Fuzzy

My dad's old Schick looks quite a bit like that one but since it's a J1, it's got the longer handle. Otherwise they're dead ringers for one another: same color handle, gold plated, even an identical case. I really enjoy getting my Schick out and firing it up periodically. __________ Jeff

I tried the drugstore injector blades and found them to be terrible. Then ordered some Pella coated injector blades from The Shave Den Store. Love them and get great shaves with them.

Yeah, I'm using the same blades. I just ordered them straight from Pella along with 200 SE SS PTFE blades as well. My DEs see little to no facetime since I've found the SE lifestyle!

I use the SE & DE each for 1 shave of every 4. The other 2 of 4 are saved for my two injector razors.

Is there much difference between the Schick injectors as far as aggressiveness. Are some milder while others are more efficient. I really like my I1 but I'm wondering if there are others that might be even better for me as I do better with the more aggressive razors.

I have three different models of Shick a G-1 a L a J-1 and then the PAL injecto matic. I find the G does the best for me. Not really aggressive but a better shave. They all give good service. Fuzzy

Fuzzy,
How would you compare your PAL to your G-1? I saw a PAL in great shape in a shop the other day, thinking I might need to have it.

I would say pick it up. I think the PAL is a shade better shave. You will enjoy it I think.
