I haven't shopped for a Micromatic for quite some time, and I can't remember if they made the Clog Pruf in chrome. I have a couple of chrome OCs that I really like. One is in excellent cosmetic shape (gift from Fuzzy) and the other is OK. They are both great shavers. I have a couple of CPs that are gold plated in so-so cosmetic shape. They both shave great, but I'm thinking about getting a chrome CP to match my OC. If anyone knows if they did or didn't make CPs in chrome would you let me know? Once I get word that they did I'm going on the hunt for one in mint or excellent condition.
Thanks,
Alan

I'm pretty sure that I've seen chrome CPs on eBay before. That's all the help I can be afraid.

They did, and the "teeth" on the guard bar is different on some/most/all of the chrome models when compared to the gold ones. The gold one has 17 and they are slightly taller than the 13 on the chrome model.

Thanks H.T.
How would you rate the shave? Is the 13 tooth chrome more agressive than the 17 gold?

I don't think I could tell one from the other in a blind test. The CP is my favorite of the Micromatics, right behind the 1912 Damaskeene and 1914 ER. I like the gold one better for some reason, but I can't say that it shaves any better or different than the chrome one.

My MM Clog Pruf is chrome and I love the shave I get from it. It's taken the place of my OCMM as my daily go-to razor. __________ Jeff

I just got a chrome Clog-Pruf in excellent condition. I'm looking forward to shaving with it tomorrow to see if it will unseat my 1912 at the top of my shaving heap.

I do not think it will replace the 1912. Having said that there is nothing wrong with the clog pruf as a daily shaver. Let us know how it goes. Fuzzy

Great shave. Less audible feedback. A bit more danger... I'll see if today's nicks were just a fluke or if I need to be on full alert.

Good to hear that it went well. The CP is a micro matic so more attention is needed. I suspect a little practice will smooth things out.
