i'll keep on the lookout for one. Sometimes they're very cheap. I got a nice one in a case for $3.25 about six months ago. __________ Jeff

Thanks Jeff. Are they that much different then the open comb?

They are very similar. The Clog Pruf is a milder razor due to the solid safety bar. It feels & looks almost identical to the open comb. I have both & prefer the OCMM, but the Clog Pruf still gives me an excellent shave.

I have both & prefer the OCMM, but the Clog Pruf still gives me an excellent shave. I also find the Clog Pruf to be similar to but milder than the OCMM. Of the three Gems I have, the Featherweight is the mildest by a considerable degree, the Clog Pruf is the next, and the least mild is the OCMM. Of course, the OCMM does produce the closest shave but I find the Clog Pruf to be a nice compromise. __________ Jeff

I've been looking around and thought the Star (1912) was similar to the CP. Is that true? Are they essentially the same razor? If so I won't need to find a clog pruf.

The 1912 is different then the clog pruf. There are several makes Star, ER Gem Treet. They all have a closed comb bar except for the treet that is a lot like the clog pruf bar. The 1912 is a favorite razor of mine. To me a better shave then the clog pruf. Fuzzy

Just a suggestion, but if you're searching on Ebay for "clogg pruff" you're not spelling it correctly and probably missing out on some. It's Clog pruf, and my favorite of the Micromatic line.

Don't feel bad dickdekoko, in the begining, I was spelling it wrong also. I was spelling it Clog Proof, not Clog Pruf. No matter how you spell it, it's a great razor. I'm thinking of looking for a CP in great shape to match my chrome OCMM. The CP I have now is nice, but it's gold and I prefer chrome. My OCMM (which was given to me by one of the members here) is pristine.

Yah, I was spelling it all kinds of ways. For the most part I use safety razor, gem, micromatic and clog pruf. I found my MM using the search term safety razor. It was listed as an automatic safety razor.

Are you looking for a mint one? Or just one to use? I saw quite a bit on there.
