Just recieved my wilkinson. And I need an opinion. The case is in terrible shape (the velvet interior). Would it be considered a blasphemy if I took it apart and replaced the interior fabrics? BTW, I tried fitting a Pella in and it fits!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D We'll see about the shave EDIT: the shave was great but very aggressive!

Glad you got a good shave out of it... well good if you enjoy the aggressive razors. Fuzzy

Wow! That wooden box is BEAUTIFUL! I personally would re-line it.
Of course the disclaimer that if you ever sell it, make sure it is clear you did so.

Started my restore. Got all the materials (as close as I could to the originals). Looks like someone spilled inh on the set or they used a blue glue. Now, I'm off to steam the old lining, get a pair of sharp scissors, turn on the radio, some glue and off we go. I'll post the end result tomorrow. Total cost of materials: 3.5$ PS. Lunch is ready! (one of the reasons I wanted to restore) And the final product:

Nice looking restore Ivan. You will be able to proudly show off the razor in a great looking case that you restored yourself.

An Allegro type E is in the post, with 3 varied grit stones and a leather strop, excellent condition and 2 attachements for blades. I'll be taking these babies for a spin soon!
