I loaded up this bad boy with a Treet blade and did my normal routine. Used CF Essential Lime Oil cream. The first thing that struck me during the shave is now light the razor is and how aggressive it is. Though not as comfortable as many other of my razors, both DE and SE, the results were excellent. I think as I become more comfortable and tweak my established technique a touch to accomodate this razor it will become more comfortable. I did have to add a pass to my normal 3 pass routine but the results were just short of BBS. A DFS all around. I am going to enjoy using this one on a periodic basis if for no other reason than the historical value of the experience. I also found that lathercatcher to be a great convenience. All in all a very worthwhile purchase and a great experience.

That's the ticket right there. Very nice looking razor. I don't think anyone around here is going to say a thing about brassing on a razor. Adds a touch of class. Usually means it was a well used and loved razor in the past. Well that is what I think anyway.
Great photos. I gotta get me one of those here soon,

Gotta agree about the brassing. We all secretly might hope get a brand new one! But in reality, the patina of a used razor makes it special.
Very nice shaver - early model, mostly sold 1902 through 1905? Probably one of the earliest that comfortably takes a single edge blade as well as it does. Great shaver! Congrats! Enjoy the drive!

Great razor Dave. I have two of them. One with the two piece handle and another with a shorter one piece. Both are great shavers but I do have some trouble with the short handle model, seems that one of the things that hold the front edge of the blade in the razor needed a little bit of straightening and it sometimes causes nick.
As for the brassing, that adds character to the razor. Who wants something that looks like it never has been used? Shiny just makes folks not want to use the razor. Me I get a razor to use not to sit around in a box or case and look pretty.
