I finally tracked down a "Junior Bar" ('00/'01) lather catcher. It has a nice little wooden handle and everything. It had a few bends and bumps in the head that needed a little nudging in the right direction, but I think she's ready to go in the morning. One side of the comb is a little lower than the other, but I think it's good. The camera batteries are charging, so pics will come soon, but just have a look at your Jr. and you'll have a good idea of how this one looks I was a little surprised at how small the handle is, but I think it will be fun to use. I don't think any razor will bump my beloved Open Comb Micromatic off it's perch, but I'm very excited to use this little beauty!

Great little razor. Much, much better than the Microjunkomatic. You will not be disappointed on bit.

Bryce, Is Andy's 01 anything like that nice 07 you have? I'm still not up on all the different LCs.

OK, pics will come a little later tonight. After two shaves, I can hardly make a full review, but I am simply amazed with this razor! It really doesn't compare to any other razor I have ever used. The sound, the feel, nothing else is like it. Not even my Ever-Ready LC is quite the same. So far, BBS with no irritation at all has been too easy. I almost feel like it's cheating. As I said, still lots of shaves left until I can form a final opinion, but I have to say the MM is getting a run for it's money!

As promised, the pics! ;D She's not pretty, but she's a Jr. Bar You can kind of see the patent dates. I have a little work to do on the handle. Finally, the "artsy" photo.

Mine is in better shape cosmetically but that really makes no difference in the way it shaves. As I said, it is a great little shaver. One would think that it would be hard to handle with such a short and light weight handle but I found it to be one of the easiest of the LC razors to use. In fact I have it up next in my SE rotation.

Wow, that a great find Andy. I'm glad to hear it shaves well. I think that model is the best looking of all the razors I've seen so far. I was going to concentrate on a little LC, but may have to shift to the Jr Bar (or get both). Please keep us posted on its performance.
Bryce, I can now see it is the same as yours. They sure are good looking razors.

They are both great shavers and ones that you need have in your rotation.

The best part about finding and using vintage razors is that each one has it's own personality. Some are ugly (like my GEM) some are pretty, some can be used half asleep, some need your full attention. Find enough and soon you will have a razor that not only gives you nice, clean shaves, but fits what ever mood you are in.

Nice one. Those shave great will use my 1910 bar today before work. Longer handle but head looks the same. One of my favorites.

So, after several more shaves and going back and forth with the OCMM, the results are in. The MM gets a closer shave, but requires more attention. The Jr. Bar can be used blood free while half asleep, it seems. Over all, they are pretty much a tie, but I have to give the award of favorite razor to the OCMM. I like its feel better, and enjoy the shave more having to pay closer attention. Having said that, I still won't pass up another Jr. Bar, if I ever track one down again.

Good report there. They are very good and easu to use for certain. I love both models, and agree the mm is a more thoughtful shave.

What was the first model razor which used this type of replaceable blade? Where the original blades made differently from to days carbon types so that they were strop-able where to days blades are not?
