Hello all I have been wetshaving four about 3 and a half months now. The only SE's I have been able to try are a Gem Damaskeene and a really beat up Miciromatic so far but both gave wonderful shaves. I prefer the micromatic though because I like the blade holding mechanism better (feels safer), the damaskeene flip top felt to flimsy and made me go reel slow with the blade in fear of it popping out. I am loving SE so far though the blade is nice and stiff like a str8t but manuverable like a DE. I am trying to get my hands on a 1910 lather catcher so I can see how those fare, I can't wait I hope to expand my knowledge of SE while I'm here as I have with other razors on other forums, and look forward to chatting with you guys ;D

Welcome.. Glad to see you here.. no need to worry about the blade popping out of the Damaskeene As long as the razor is in good shape it is secure.
See you around
Fuzzy
