I found one of these recently, but mine says 4 on it. It definitely holds a lot of lather! Shaved with mine today. I do love the tall loft. I do not see many around. Where did you find yours? Fuzzy

Nice looking brush HT! How do you guys store them to dry? Do you have a large stand?

In the summer I hang the brush I used that day on a pegboard in my garage. In the winter I lay it on the register vent on the floor of my bedroom, it's out of sight and dries quickly.
I have enough brushes that I never use the same one two days in a row so they have plenty of time to dry thoroughly between uses.

Mine go on top of the cabinet. No problems with them drying.

How would you describe the tips Fuzzy? Has it broken in fairly easy?

Alan,
I store two of mine on the plastic brush stands you can get from most of the vendor sites on the web. I cut the bottom off them an have them stuck to one of my razor racks. One above the shave mug and the other to the right underside of the little shelf on the rack that the mug sits on.
The other 7 simply sit bristle end up on top of a shave cabinet I have hanging on the wall next to the sink. They all dry out before morning. Although I very seldom use one two days in a row.

I saw one of these in a store here for $10 dollars. It looked great. It says #4 on it. I was going to buy it then but the store was crowded and I was in a rush. Now that I'm back in town I'm thinking about going back and buying it.

I really am a fan of these Dubl Duck brushes. I don't own one, but I wouldn't be disappointed if I did! Fuzzy - a new one - nice scoop!
The New York company that produced these was started somewhere near the early 30's and the Dubl Duck logo was used a few years after they began. After WW2 the company was purchased by a guy named Pearlson, and then the PearlDuck name was born. There are quite a few excellent solingen manufactured straight razors which were made for these guys - hence, the DublDuck and PearlDuck razors which people readily snap up when they find them in good condition. Pearlson did however also use the Dubl Duck name and have PearlDuck DublDuck razors. Confused? Me too!!
I would suggest the dating of both of these brushes to somewhere before or during WW2, before Pearlson picked up the company. They could however be afterwards as PearlDuck was also a grooming/barber supply company and had multiple beauty products. So, it is hard to say for sure. The high loft though would appear to be in keeping with late 30's, 40's trends for brushes, rather than the shorter loft and larger diameter knots showing up later on.
The Pearl Duck/ Dubl Duck name is still around, but they sell mostly dog/pet grooming stuff now.
