Well out on a cigar and look at the eclipse break here. Getting a few high clouds now but can still see ok. Looks cool from South Louisiana. It's a quiet night here at the casino.
Just for the record I do like the Proboards App for the Iphone.
So what's every one doing for Christmas?

The eclipse looked pretty sweet up here. Lots of icy fog in the air made for an extremely bright ring around the moon that changed as the shadow creeped over it's surface. As far as Christmas is concerned, I'm trying to pick up as much overtime at work as I can, since I work anyway. Not much else happening this year. My brother has been teaching English in China since late August, and Mom is leaving in the morning to spend a little over a week with him. That leaves just Dad, my two nephews, and me in town. Depending on weather, I'll likely get out to my Grandparents' houses, both sides conveniently live in the same town, on Sunday. We rotate Christmas gatherings to allow every one to see both sides of their families, and this is an off year so not many people will be around. The GF pulled a classic Christmas trick. We agreed on a very small Christmas due to some medical bills I have to deal with, but she came over last night to drop off a "couple of things". By a "couple of things", she meant a couple of huge bags, over flowing with various boxes, all wrapped and ribboned up She said most of it came from her family, but I have a feeling I'll have to brave the crowds at the mall today to supplement my side of the gift giving tradition

Andy,
Good to hear from you. Nice that your brother is in China. Have a niece who spent two years there learning the language as a cover for passing out Bibles. Daughter went there for a visit in the spring of 09. Spent about 2 weeks there. Got loads of great pix and especially of the Great Wall.
As for the Christmas tradition, my daughter and son-in-law will be in from Chicago for the weekend. First time in 3 years we have been together. Really nice to have them here. When they are not coming in I don't really feel like decorating or doing much celebrating. No one here as far as close family left to get together with. So this will be a great year for my wife and I.

Keep your fingers crossed for me! I was chatting with a coworker tonight and she mentioned that her weekend is going to be long and hard, since she's helping a friend move a bunch of stuff from a house they bought after the previous owner passed away. She was talking about how many antique items were in the house. I casually mention that if she comes across any old razors I'd like to take a look. Here eyes grew wide and described to me a funny looking razor she found that is in a nice box and has a long wooden handle. I hope it's what I think it is

I inquired about the razor today, and she said they couldn't find it. I think that meant they looked up info on e-bay and it's a listing right now. Oh well, maybe next time.

You could add that you would give her ten bucks for it and that may provide incentive for her to look for it - either through realizing you really want, or just cuz she wants ten bucks! If she is selling it, she might then feel ok to tell you what she would like for it. If it is buggered or not something you want you can just say it wuznt what you were thinking. Think of the bear up there - he would try at least a couple of things before giving up!!

Nice score, Fuzzy!. I've been cooped up in apartment living for the past few years, and am looking into houses again. I can't wait to get behind a mower and push it all around the yard

Been awhile since this thread has been active so I thought I would get it going again.
Been away so to speak the last two weeks. Had a bad, bad case of bronchitis for about 10 days and also got to celebrate the birth of my first grand daughter. Name is Ivy Jane. I am in Chicago right now getting to know her. She is really cute and soooo little. I think Iwill allow my daughter and her husband to keep her as long as the bring her back to WPa often.
