Hello everyone. I'm glad I ran across this corner of the interwerbz. This is a welcome find for me, as I have a building collection of Gem's, and would like to learn more about the other SE options that are out there. I also use DE razors, but the Gem's are my favorite by far. I have 4 of them, and my son has 1 that he uses occasionally. A Gem Jr. with the fat bakelite handle, a gold open comb micromatic(my favorite), a featherweight, and a bullet tip micromatic with the magic eye(is that the correct term?). So far I've been using the gem blades from walgreen's, but soon I'm going to be making a bulk order form Ted Pella. Unless there are better options out there for bulk blades.

Thanks for the welcome. I am really looking forward to refining my technique with each of my razors, and getting some more. I am a huge fan of good metal work, and in the shaving world, SE's seem to have the best. When I first started researching gem razors I couldn't believe how beautiful the early models looked. And on top of that I can get a great shave from them. The best of both worlds.

It was the same with me. Once I get a few of the basics, I plan to go on the hunt for some of those old ornates. Take a look at some of the members collections. They have some beautiful ones.
