Ever have something you want to talk about with the other member's but do not want to start a thread for it. Well here ya go. Name Your subject and lets talk about it. I have brought a young friend of mine to the dark side. He started out with a VDH kit that I gave him and recently started using my 1912 G3 WWII set to shave. Took to it like a duck to sauce. (duck sauce get it???). Now he is using Williams and C.O, Bigelow along with the VDH and I let him have one of my Lather Monster generic Boar brushes. He signed up here awhile back,(eauxmar) Congrats to him for catching on so fast. We need more young people to start into our little hobby here. I am going to loan him several different razors so he can see what they are all like.. but I bet he sticks with the SE stuff as his favorite. Fuzzy

Sorry mrguy that I messed up your post about Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies makin' Possum Stew. But after this apology I guess the rest of those with extremely good epicurean tastes will understand what you posted. Granny from Beverly Hillbillies was always good for a possum stew recipe. Yeh, good ol' Granny. Had some real taste when it came to cookin'. Possum stew a great dish and much better than rabbit stew or else Granny would not have made it her signature dish. Here is a recipe: Possum Stew Ingredients: bullet two cans of tomato sauce bullet three cans of cooked tomatoes bullet 1/2 thickly sliced worthog meat (mainly for flavor) bullet a big bag of pasta noodles (any redneck kind will do) bullet 1/2 possum (other 1/2 can be used for breakfast possum-omlettes) bullet salt and pepper Directions: Fry bacon in big gramma kettle, over mid. size fire, then fry possum in the grease till golden brown. Take the meat out, then add enough water to pot to fill 2/3 way and then boil noodles. Once cooked add both things of tomatoes to kettle and meat and add enough salt and pepper to old granny's taste. Cook all together for a bout 1 hour simmering over low fire to sautee. Bone Appa Teet.

Anybody have and care to share a good recipe for Rabbit Stew? Here we go. Just one recipe but there are many out there: NORTHERN RABBIT STEW 2 young rabbits, cut up 1/4 c. chopped parsley 1/4 c. oil and drippings 1 sliced onion 4 c. boiling water 2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 c. sliced celery 1/4 c. flour 3 med. potatoes, diced 1/2 c. cold water 3 med. carrots, diced Brown rabbits in oil in Dutch oven. Add boiling water. Cover and simmer about 1 hour. Add vegetables and seasonings. Cook until vegetables are tender, about 20 to 25 minutes. Combine flour and cold water to form a paste and add to stew. Stir until slightly thickened. Note, that if you use a certain "Fuzzy" rabbit you only need to use about 10% of it to equal 2 regular rabbits!

Bunch of rain around for that busted up Tropical Depressoin that is moving through. Prolly more of the same tomorrow. Makes me super lazy.
Caught a few fish early this morning after getting off work. Ended up giving them to a older Asian couple that showed up at the boat launch as I was packing up. WOOHOO no fish to clean that way LOL

I haven't been fishing in a long time. Need to start going again. Some time ago I was working the night shift right by the water. When I got off I would stroll down to the jetty and throw a line in. Very relaxing; a good way to unwind from the job. Are you fishing fresh or salt water, and what do you fish for?

AAAAhh, my kind of fishing. Years ago I had a boat out here, and did a lot of fishing from it. It was fun, but the upkeep could be a pain. Right now, I'd just as soon bank fish. Instead of hauling the boat and trailer, I throw a lawn chair in the back of my truck. Maintinance is much easier too. Instead of washing and cleaning the boat and trailer, I just hose off the lawn chair. I guess if I lived on the water I might get another boat, but not right now.

We have some good bank fishing around here. Trout, Bass, and Bullhead, just to name a few. Some day, I'd like to go saltwater fishing, but for now I'm happy living across the street from a great "fishin' hole". A quick 5 minute walk with the fly rod, and I'm good for dinner!

Never did any fly fishing. My grandad use to use a fly rod to pan fish. Used it like a long cane pole. I have some long fiberglas poles for pan fish. Love to just plop a chair down on the bank and catfish. I am really close to the Gulf but do not go salt water fishing much. I want to catch some flounder soon. Fuzzy
