Good Evening folks, Well, the official temp was 110 today, but the thermometer where I was said 113. I keep telling myself "Yes its hot, but its a dry heat". Tomorrow I'm driving down to Tucson to see my Mom and Dad. They both celebrate their birthdays this week (Dad 84, Mom 82). Thursday evening I'll be back on line resuming my quest for my first SE. I've got a lot of questions I'll be consulting you folks on.
See you then, Alan

Lived in Tucson for almost 5 years. Swing by los Beto's and pick up a burrito for me. I like the carne asada think it was. Enjoy and Happy B'day to the Rents.

Thanks guys, I got home from Tucson late last night so I wasn't able to go on line. Fuzzy, the Rents are doing fine. Dad actually pased down his Garand to me. Its the one he brought home in 46. I'll hit the high country and try it next wekend. Tonight I'm looking into the micromatics. Its taking all my resolve not to impulse buy. I've got a nickel in my pocket and I want to spend it. After all, I've got 100 Ted Pellas and no place to put them. OK folks, I need to get back to my Micromatic homework. I'llget back to you with my questions tomorrow.

I would start with the clog pruf however and work up to the Open Comb model. The OC are very much an aggressive whisker cutter. Fuzzy

Didn't seem to bad out here today. My outdoor thermometer said 109. Yesterday was interesting. We had cloud cover most of the day. The humidity was up. Driving home from work I had to travel from the southeast end of the valley to the northwest end. I could see the dark sky up north, and knew we were i for a dut storm. It came barreling in and I ended up driving through it all the way home. For the most part, no rain, just really high winds and dust. When I arrived at my house you could smell water in the air (Fuzzy knows what I mean). Not 5 minutes later the rain came. Unfortuntely the wind was blowing so hard the rain only lasted a short time. It cooled down the temp though. Anyway, I have some questions on SEs. Will post them in a bit. Alan in AZ

Well, the high temp in my backyard was 112 today. Ran out and did some errands early in the morning and then stayed inside in the AC. The monsoon season is here, so we may have some rain showers around sundown. When that happens it cools down quite a bit. We'll see what happens.

The last couple of days have been pretty good. We've had cloud cover and that kept the temp down (99-103). The best thing was it actually rained off and on, not down pours, just enough to get rid of excess humidity. Anyway, found a "Sally's" not too far from my house. I've never tried Masters Bayrum and I heard they have it. I'm going to pop over there today and see what they have. Tomorrow I'm going to brave the bay in my quest for a Gem 1912.

I got it and like it. It seems a little smoother than other Bay Rums. I just finished a shave and have it on now.
Well, off to work.

Well, not a bad week here at all. Had cloud cover most of the time. The monsoons make it humid, but this week it rained a couple of times everyday, cooling everything off. The day before yesterday we had a real frog drowner out here. No wind, just straight down rain. It started around 4:30 pm and lasted till 6:30pm. The side of town I live on now got it the worst. The riverbeds (normally dry) were flowing like crazy. A lot of the crossings were covered with water. I just made it home before they were closed. Fire restrictions have been lifted in the forests. May take a couple of days off and hit the high country and do a little camping. Time to dig out my rubber Marvy mug and load it up for outdoor shaving!

Hoo boy, I think the weather finally broke. We've had a couple of cool nights in a row. I think the day time temp only got up to 100 today. When I got up this morning it was 66. We're starting to get into the time of year when you can really enjoy the desert. I can come out of hibernation now.
