Why do they call it the "Little LC"? Is the head smaller?

The head is a bit smaller and the lather catcher part is not as big. It is sort of a cross between a 1912 and a lather catcher. Like most SEs with the exception of the Micro"junk"omatic it is a great shaver.

Why do they call it the "Little LC"? Is the head smaller? Alan Like Bryce said it has the looks of a baby LC. They do shave well though. Fuzzy

Since this thread has been revived here is an updated photo of my arsenal. Since that photo I sold the Featherweight, G-Bar, Pushbutton and Contour since I just wasn't using them, but I kinda wish I would've kept the G-Bar. The first three on the top row are my 1914's.

Very nice stuff HT! Now I can see what the 1914 actually looks like. You folks were right, it looks just like a smaller version of the big boys. I definately may need to look into acquiring one of those. Do they shave as good as a regular GEM 1912?
Bryce, look at all those beautiful MMs! (just kidding you my friend).
I only have one MM , an OC, but I need to get a Clog Proof next (I think). Do those bullet tips shave the same as the clog proofs? I think you folks said they were a little milder.

Alan to me the 1914 feels and sounds very similar to the 1912. The Clog Pruf is my favorite in the Micromatic line. For me the Bullet Tip is a little too mild, it shaves much like the Featherweight, Contour, Pushbutton and G-Bar. Here is a pretty good discussion about the 1914 with a few pictures if you haven't read it before. theoriginalsafety.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=er&action=display&thread=184

Thanks for the info HT. I checked it out and it's very informative. I will be looking for a 1914 very shortly. First I think I'll take a look at snapping up a clog proof.

OK, first of all Alan you're spelling "Proof" wrong. Well, actually you're spelling it right, which is wrong. In order to spell it right you have to spell it wrong. It's "Pruf", not "Proof". So, now do you understand that you have to spell it wrong for it to be spelled right?

Quite a pair of collections! Is there any consensus on blade preference on this board? Alan

Quite a pair of collections! Is there any consensus on blade preference on this board? Alan Most prefer the Tom Pella coated blades. I prefer carbon steel blades usually PAL or Treet. I also use gem Blue Stars. Fuzzy
