Rescued this at an antique store along with a 1912 Gem and a nice Colgate Shave Stick Can. Still needs to be polished up... Good scoop SpecialK. I have seen a similar razor only once, so it is nice to see your pics. I particularly like the brass blade retainer against the nickel plate - very cool.
Looking forward to hearing if your experience is like Dave's, or if you are able to get in some good carving.
Thnx for the show!!

The 1st go was a very nice shave. The head angle is different than the other LC's. I'll reserved final judgment after a couple more shaves.
Keep trying Fuzzy...I had been on a pretty bad cold spell of not finding nothing at antique stores until this one. I almost didn't go since it was a bit out of the way.

Yeah - I am familiar with the 'cold spell'. I haven't had much luck at all around where I live for quite some time. Mind you, I did pick up the Zinn that Dave sold on to Rapperley, and that is a wonderful acquisition. But, around here, squat! I have been working on a guy who has a death row razor (psycho type) that was used on death row in a Canadian prison up until death sentences were stopped (it almost feels a little creepier the closer I get to it!). I have been bugging this guy since last September - it is in his basement and is one of those stories of 'if I had labeled the boxes....' sheesh! Get down there and get my gosh darn razor!!!! That is what I want to say! : ) Oh well, I called him again today and one of these days the lazy bugger will do it. Comes with a letter and the whole deal - so I have to be polite until I end up with it.
I went out last weekend and burned up tons of gas hunting around - came up with a great bottle I paid ten cents for! I have put some bay rum in it and have it up on my counter - really nice, but not a razor! I keep waiting to trip over a case full of NOS kampfes in tins. Ha! Well, maybe a box full of NOS Griffons then - I am not choosy!
I am hoping this weekend my luck will change! There is a collectibles show not too far away and ya never know what a new day will bring.
Viva la finding stuff!!@!!!
Rock on Razor Doooods!

That will be cool when you land that death row razor....I wonder if it comes with a spirit attached too.... Yeah - it is quite the find. The fella who has it was a guard at the prison. I kinda wonder about the spirit thing a little! I'm not sure I will shave with it..... apparently it has not been used by anyone but death row inmates. The guy says he has had it since they stopped the program while he was working there - and he never used it. OoooOOooooOooooooo....... *just as a note - my wife is not too impressed I am even picking it up. But, I figure somebody has to claim it and ensure it gets properly stored and taken care of.
