I have essentially the same razor. It is a bit more aggressive than a 1912 but once you get the technique down it will provide a great shave. I love all my lather catcher SEs. All you need to do is find what angle best suits your shaving stroke. Above all go light. You can always increase the pressure as you learn the technique.

Hi, While browsing the B&B I saw this thread which is about the same razor: badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=160946I unlocked or "freed" the top plate like in the above thread. The problem is that I cannot lock it again. Can you give me any advice on this matter? Thanks. Edit: I solved the issue. Just press down a bit. What a subtle mechanism it has. It's the first and best safety razor!
