Beautiful razor, looks like the two that I had and sold. I wish I enjoyed using them but they sure don't work for me. Good snag and I hope it brings you much joy!

Kevin, I really like the look of the handle on that. Looks more substantial than the hollow tube "straws" that so often come with these.

No time last night and was running late this morning so hopefully I can give it a cleaning and sharpen the blades tonight. I will probably throw a Pella in for the 1st shave and then try the wedges this weekend.
I really need to dust off the DEs and get those sold to fund more SE buys!

Cleaned up super nice...didn't get to hone the wedge blades but popped a Pella in this morning. It was all good though this razor is aggressive especially with a modern SE blade due to the blade/comb gap...Also, a word of caution a modern SE blade appears to slip over the nubs sometimes....
from my SOTD... "...While finishing up on the final pass in the last area left to shave, the blade slipped over the nubs that hold it in place (of course I did not notice this)....I took a stroke and it felt a little more aggressive than the rest of the shave but thought it might just be my angle. On the next stroke, the blade on one side had come all the way out of the razor head and the corner of the blade caught on my face and sliced a half inch cut across my left cheek."

That is something I had no trouble with using my Kampfe. I do have one LC, though, where one of the nubs is worn down so badly that it cannot reliably hold a blade. I would imagine that given the age of LC's this might not be that unusual a problem.

I am sorry to hear about your experience. I had the same thing occur one time with a 1914 ER - I thought the blade was in place but I had done something that allowed it to sit outside of the nubs and the blade moved around as you described. I did get cut that time as well. I hope yours is not too bad - it can make shaving the next few times rather uncomfortable.
I guess there is a risky side to 'extreme shaving', but it is all worth it in the long run! Heal up razor soldier!!

one of the nubs on my 1910 LC is worn down a little which can make loading a blade a little difficult, just takes an extra second or so. Luckily I have never had the blade slip out during a shave Has anyone tried to beef up the nubs with something? super glue, epoxy, jb weld etc. hmm might be something to experiment with at a later time and yes the R-man is right in saying the shave is definitely worth the risk ;D

I figured out that the problem was one of the clamps on the side of the head. It was a bit loose and did not hold the blade securely in place. A quick pinch with some needle-nose pliers solved the problem. Used the razor with the wedge blade on Monday and had a superb shave.

A quick pinch with some bottle-nose pliers solved the problem. Used the razor with the wedge blade on Monday and had a superb shave. OUTSTANDING.. The thing just needed some TLC.. amazing how well they were built. Fuzzy
