The what??! The first time I've heard of these kind of blades. I mean, I know of the Star, Kampfe blades, but never heard of gem blades. And since they are pictured next to "regular" lather catchers, that take normal SE blades, I assume they were made for them. I tried putting a Star blade in my lather catcher, and as I recall, it didn't fit. Anybody have these kind of blades?

My 1911 Gem junior came with 7 Gem blades but do not say hollow ground. just Gem Cutlery Co, Ny on one side and Gem Junior on the other. They are in good shape looks like to me.

By the look of the pix napoleon has posted the hollow ground blades are what I would refer to and maybe even Dave would as "wedge" blades. These are the blades that you need to hone and strop to keep sharp. They are not disposable.
Fuzzy, are the blades in your 1911 similar to the modern SE blades in look? I have a bunch of vintage GEM blades that came with one of my lather catchers, not sure if it is the 1911 Elite GEM Jr or one of the other ones. But they seem to be disposable and not of the wedge variety. It would be very interesting if your 1911 model came with "wedge" blades.

They are the first I have seen that said Gem Junior on them. Fuzzy
