I just got a beautiful Gem Jr. from ebay-1901, but it has a problem and I'm wondering if anybody out there has any suggestions. One of the prongs to secure the blade is missing. When I latch the blade in the blade is secure but on a bit of an angle. Will I need a transfusion if I attempt to shave with it? My 1912 Gem Jr. is one of my absolute favorite razors and I've heard these shave even better. Any possible fixes? Should I ask for my money back or a discount? I got it for $59 which I would consider a great deal if I could safely shave with it. Thank you
Danny

If you do try to use it be very cautious. With the blade not resting on the prong, you are going to be shaving at an extremely weird angle. Much more extreme than a slant razor angle. I'm not sure how you could fix that except for doing some soldering....think their was another thread like this in here somewhere....
A pic might help too.

I would suggest you send it back. That is a terminal flaw I think. I would guess that it is possible the seller did not notice the flaw, but there is no way I would not try to shave with it.

I agree with Fuzzy. This is a great reason and example of why you should have the seller post good pix and also ask questions about the condition of the seller. If the seller can't or won't reply about the condition just pass on the razor no matter the seemingly low cost.
Asking questions of eBay sellers is always a good thing to do. In fact I asked a question of a seller when I first started to satisfy my RAD and after the second question which was a very valid question the seller put me on his ignore list of buyers. I could not even place a bid if I wanted to. Unfortunately I did not mark who the guy was so I could let other shavers to watch out and not buy from the guy.
Hope your seller will make this deal right for you. Good Luck.

It did prove to be a menacing shaver. Only got one cut but it was a rough as hell shave. The seller has agreed to refund my money. He says he really has no clue about razors and didn't know. It is very difficult to spot. I couldn't tell from the pics and still have trouble seeing it. It only becomes clear when you load it with a blade. Now I need to get myself one of these that I can shave with. Thanks for the advice gentlemen.
