Picked this up a while back, and realized I forgot to post about it over here where it belongs. So here it is, the Feathershave, Worlds Simplest Razor: Rather than posting a lot of pictures, here is a link to my Feathershave Picture Folder: tinyurl.com/Feathershave-FolderWhile it does use proprietary S/E blades, a modern blade will work just fine after the spine is removed thereby allowing the blade to flex and fit into the razor. This is the loudest razor I have ever shaved with, the wife actually heard me shaving from the other room and came in to see what I was doing, the blade really sings without a spine or a razor frame clamping the blade in place,

That is really cool! Thanks for sharing. Now, please tell me I'm not the only one looking around the house for a handle to shove a bent piece of wire coat hanger into to make a "clone"

Cal, if you would like to take it for a test drive, just let me know and I'll send it your way.

Bill, How was the quality of the shave? Far away from being the best S/E shave I have ever had. I think the lightness of the whole setup has something to do with it, plus it can be a little tough keeping the correct angle, of course I haven't been using my S/E's near as much as I should so that may have contributed to it also. That's why I figured I would offer it up to an S/E master like Cal to give it a fair shake.

I hear ya...I can't do the ones without at least a little weight to them. I can usually get a good shave from a light Razor. I had a week one time were all I used was a Gillette plastic DE. I get some really good shaves from it. Same from a Dorco plastic thingie. Fuzzy

LOL...whats that saying....YMMV i personally like...to each their own... I end up using too much pressure because i think i need to with the light ones...maybe i shoud revisit with a lil more experience now.
