heres a rough shot of instructions for the 1912 GEM. whats good about this is it shows the correct angle (more or less) when using the razor.

You know it's funny.I've found every S/E has a sweet spot and I've worked out all of them by feel. The instructions supplied with most of my razors show an angle that doesn't work for me. ???Trial and error all the way,on the road to the best shaves ever. ;D

That is true,, but with the 1912 I find that what is on the instrictions works great for me. Like you said though got to try it to know.

I will have to load one up to try, but I think that is about my usual angle for most of the Gem/ER that I have used...

How does the angle you use on a 1912 compare to the one for the lather catcher? I think it is about the same for me.

This is the angle I quickly found best for my ER 1912; also for the Pushbutton and Gem Jun which I have but rarely use as I always get a kick from using my "mint" ornate handle razor. Renewed thanks to D.I for coaching me in the early days!

I find that the angle of the razor varies not just by razor but also according to the part of the face I am shaving. When doing the WTG the angle varies from right side to the left when I am doing the jaw line and the neck.
