Just take a DE in it's wrapper, fold it with your hands so it breaks in half, and snip the little two "flaps" on the sides a little. And you're set . I had no idea you could do that!!!! Thank you! I gave it a try with a Derby and 'snap'! It just broke great. I am very impressed. I am very glad I asked! If I could find some metal cutters or something I'd cut SE blades in half. That would be the best. I have tried this with numerous single edge blades and with several different snips and tools. No luck. The metal stresses while you are trying to cut it and it just sort of breaks all jagged. It is next to impossible to get a decent cut on one as far as I have found. (Maybe with a press style of cutter - but those are hard to come by - I haven't any idea where to even go to try one which would have the right blade size. Perhaps a very well stocked metal shop.) I am pleased to have 'discovered' this D/E blade snapping trick!! Thanks again!

All right! That is in an excellent case too! Considering this set of razors is being sold by a collector some consider to have Europe's largest razor collection, I think it tops out it's value here. There have been some pretty competitive auctions for the razors he has been selling. Good price - I guess it pays to buy in an auction. I must admit I was disappointed to see the final price top out at 169usd with only three interested bidders, but I am glad you were the one to come up with it. Congrats

I'm glad someone here got that one. I had been watching it and if we weren't going on vacation next week, I may have made that final price go a little higher....
Enjoy and more pics please!!!!

I think I would just leave it alone. After all, it is a very old razor, and it has a lot of character as a result. And replating it would destroy some of that character, in my opinion.
