Recently picked up a Kampfe Star lather catcher SE with wedge blades and would like to know how to hone them. I am a straight razor shaver, head and face and have hones from 200-16k grit. Any advice would be appreciated.
Kind regards,

Would you not hone these blades the same as you would a straight razor blade, holding it with the edge and the spine both against the hone. I would suspect that you, having used your hones with your straights, would be able to do a credible job on these safety razor wedge blades.
Regards, Tom

I haven't been able to get my hands on any standard size wedge blades yet to try and hone them but I would assume though that the process is the same as with a straight as Tom stated. The only difference being that these blades are rather short and have no scales so it may make it difficult and slow to try and hone it by just using your fingers. The stropper attachments on early SE razors are perfect for to take car of this matter as the add a handle for you to control the blade. If you do not have one of these though I assume you could try and redneck it somehow with double sided tape and a small stick (coffee stir, kabob stick, thin wire) good luck and please let us know how it turns out ;D
