Couldn't resist posting about the two injectors I purchased yesterday.
The first a '48 Eversharp-Schick G1 is my birth year razor. I have a G1 now and it is a fine shaver but the chance to get one made the year I was born was too much to pass.
The second one is a '73 Stick Schick. I had one of these shortly after I got married. Has a 4 speed shifter style handle. Had bid on one on eBay last week and lost out when I forgot to watch the end of the auction and to raise my high bid. But yesterday I checked by regular Schick razor eBay search and low and behold this one came up and it is in much better shape than the one I bid on last week. To make things better the seller had just listed it as BIN and so I bit.
Will take some pix and post my thoughts when they get here.
Today I am a really happy camper or make that shaver.

Congrats on those! Heh wait... I don't have a birth year injector... time to start looking for one of those. It didn't even occur to me that it was a possibility. How were you able to bullseye the year for those injectors? All I know about type L is that they range from 65-80. How do you know that the stick is a 73?

I really enjoy the Stick Schick. The little ball "shifter" handle is pretty comfortable to use. Way to go on your finds!

For the most part it is hard to put an exact year on any vintage razor. But I found a pix of a '48 Eversharp-Schick in its box and it matches my new one exactly. As for the stick schick, again I found the year in the Waits CD. Tell me what year you were born in and maybe I can help you identify one that may have been made in your birth year. If it is one that was made both before and after who really cares when it was made. You can call it a birth year razor because it was in production that year.

And you have already told me what to look for. (1973) I was just curious if there were particular markings to narrow it down to a year.

I love the G Type. ;D So aggressive but oh so nimble. Fantastic shaver.

Funny, I don't find the G1 very aggressive at all. But then what do I know other than I have about 20 shaves under my belt with it and have yet to draw blood for any reason. Now watch next time I use the thing I will get a nice gash or a messy weeper! I must agree that the G1 is very nimble. Maybe that is why I don't draw blood with it like I do my SE and DE razors. I seem to be able to move a bit faster and get done shaving a few minutes earlier. As for IRAD, I don't know. I am very happy with just one but when the chance to get a birth year razor and also one that like a razor I owned as a young man came up I just could not resist. Now if I start buying other injectors than IRAD has set in.
