These are the two brushes I use all of the time. I've somehow avoided SBAD so far, but can still sense the possibility in my future. Most of you will recognize the one on the right, a Semogue 2000. It's everything I want a boar brush to be and I couldn't possibly describe it better than anyone else that pours out the love for these things. It's just a great brush. I'm already looking forward to my next Semogue. I hope the next one loses it's boar funk more quickly than this one did. The brush on the left is a 22mm Goldennib silvertip knot in a vintage Ever-Ready brush handle, probably from the 1950's. I love this thing. It's a soft, lather making little monster with just enough backbone to lather soaps without a problem. It really excels in creams. You can see where I overdid the marine epoxy just a bit - there's a little bead of gray, right at the base of the knot. In fact, the whole handle is full of carboard and epoxy. It's not heavy, but is a nice weight. Feels better in my hand than the Semogue, in fact. The follow on to this one will be a TGN 26mm finest knot (thanks to Rodd's review) in a vintage cream and red B&J 'bowling pin' handle. I'm always on the lookout for vintage Ever-Ready handles (who's not?). Someday, I'll find one as cool as the one that Rodd did for Dave!

Very nice there Tom.. I have a vintage Every Ready handle to re knot sometime. But not as cool as that green and black beauty that some of the folks have.

Hey Fuzzy,
Be patient my friend. Watch on ebay and you may get lucky to find one like I did. A green and black handled ER 200 in almost new condition. That way you don't need to have it refurbished. Just use it as a great boar brush.
If I see one on ebay I will let you know immediately.

The brush above is not an ER 200. This is an ER 200. But the brush you show from Country Joe is nice looking and the knot does not look that bad. It maybe useable. Need to actually handle the brush to determine that. The price is not that bad either. If you give Joe a call he can tell you about the condition of the knot. He can be trusted.
