How did you guys let me snag this? Actually, I bid this one to win, would have taken a decent bit to get it away from me. But I'm always pleased to grab a bargain! This is a razor by a company called VIC. Never heard of or saw one before, but I fell in love with the look of it from the first time I saw it. It's an open comb SE, with elements that remind one of the 1912, crossed with a bit or two from a lather catcher. The end result is a stunning and unique piece. I bought it on eBay, in a lot with a very clean GEM 1912, a cased Ever Ready 1924 and a Durham Duplex (a Shavette?). All told, the winning bid was $11.05 plus $5.65 shipping (my max. bid was nearing 3 digits... I really didn't want to be out bid!). Any info on dating the VIC or on other models they produced etc. would be appreciated! Here's the lot of them.

Very nice! ;D Be sure to tell us how it shaves and how aggressive it is. Dang all I can find on e-bay are blurry photos that look like they were taken by a Bigfoot photographer

3 digits? crazy Yup. But I had to have it. Fortunately for me, none of the other bidders were crazy like me . $11.05 for the lot suited me just fine.

That is a pretty cool looking razor. Have you shaved with it? Standard blades work in it?

Guess I missed this one, sorry! I fitted a GEM blade for verification, no problem, fits like a glove. I will get a shave with it soon, but there is a long line ahead if it. I'm on a quest to try every razor I've bought, so using a different one each day. Due to buying in lots (and just plain buying LOTS!), I won't even finish this year. But this one will get in there soon. Since I'm new (er) to wet shaving, I decided about two months ago to shave in "batches" or "Themes", often using similar razors, but a different example, for a week at a time. This allows me some continuity in developing technique, and when using DE's, allows for some blade sampling as well (currently have 7 DE blades in rotation, and typically get 6 days from a blade- I'm finishing up week 5 tomorrow, so one more week for these blades). This week it has been adjustable DE's (3 Slims, 2 Fat Boys, a Toggle today, and tomorrow a Super Adjustable). I've done themes with Tech Week, 40's style Super Speed week, a Week of very Special Razors (one and two, I'll post pics below, as long as I'm not hit for blasphemy, as they're mostly DE's), GEM week (two open comb and one bullet Micromatics, two Feather Weights, a Push Button and a G Bar) and others. Last week was the"Special Razors" week two from below. The week before was Single Ring Gillettes. Hm, since this is the "anything else" forum, maybe these are okay? I'll post those too! Next week is a week of Big Fellows (I need to make sure I plan ahead, as the razors need to have been cleaned up and made shave ready), and the week after, I think I'll slip in the VIC. It's going to be a week of nothing but 100 year old razors. And thing is, we don't really seem to know! But we've had multiple speculations that could put it at 100 yrs old. So I think I'll include it. A week of "Special" razors (week one) Single Rings "Special" razors, week II
