Just completed a shave with a nos Gem Contour. What a pleasant surprise. . I would go as far to say,one of the most forgiving razors I have ever used.It felt very good in the hand and mowed down 3 day's growth with ease. ;)Definately going into my rotation. ;D

There were 2 Contour models produced.A flip top and a push button.I have the flip top. They succeeded the older Push Button models and were the last razors made by Gem as far as I know. Attachments:

Not a bad razor at all. Not my favorite SE by any means. In fact I have taken my Contour (like yours) and my Featherweight out of my regular rotation. Decided I wanted to stay with the 1912s and lather catcher models. Just enjoy shaving with those too much.
Glad you like the shaves. An experience that I had too.

Glad to hear that as I have a contour on the way. I hope it does as good a job. I still use my feather weights, g-bar, and push button now and again. I get good shaves from them but not like the 1912 or LC's.

The newer SE razors just don't match up against them.

The Contour arrived from Justin while I was in the Hospital yesterday. I thing that I will give it a go later tonight when I shave. That will give me over 2 days growth to try it out on. Trial by fire so to speak.

That is very true.. it is funny that more growth makes a smoother shave. But that is how it goes for sure. I am waiting till I shower later to try it out. The Doc said I could get the bandages off and get a quick shower today woohoo!!! Fuzzy

I bet you smell really good Fuzzy. Getting a shower or bath after surgery is soooo rewarding. And I find that even if I just skip a day of shaving the results of the next day's shave is really great and smooth without as much work as usual.

Yuppers it was nice.. The Contour is very mild huh. Was a good shave but kinda like using a SS or something. But the razor is mint. A nice addition.

Second shave was much better folks..MUCH better. Still not an aggressive razor at all.. but nice addition to the line.
How do I tell if this is a contour or contour II someone said the contour II had a all plastic handle, this one is plastic but has a strip of metal that you can see along the back of the handle.
