I'm in Chicago this week visiting the grand daughter. But I still have to shave and would like to know what you guys are using.

No shave this morning. Going to be helping the daughter get her porch cleaned up and ready for some porch sitting. A dirty job cleaning all the winter dirt and leaves off the porch and scrubbing the porch furniture as well.
See no need to even get a morning shower before going to her place to get the job done. But will come back to the hotel after the job is done and shower and shave.
But what will I shave with. Will it be my favorite DE, a Gillette NEW, or my trusty '12 GEM travel razor. I guess it depends on just how I feel when the time comes.

This blade is still holding up incredibly well. Even with 10 shaves on it, it's delivering a near BBS shave. ______________ Jeff

Tuesday, July 19, 2011- Prep: TSD ISZ PreShave Balm, hot shower w/ cold finish, hand strop blade
- Cream: C.O. Bigelow w/ 7 drops glycerin
- Brush: Frank Shaving Fine Badger
- Razor: Gem Micromatic Clog Pruf
- Blade: Walgreen's Gem (2), 3 passes
- Post: Ice cube rinse, Aqua-Velva Ice Blue, Hand strop blade
- Shave Rating: 5/5 I'm going to need a new scale if my shaves just keep getting better and better! ;D
Thanks to Steve (swarden43) I was able to try the TSD ISZ PreShave Balm. What an enjoyable experience it was letting it sit on my face for 20 minutes. I can now understand why some like to leave it on for 30 minutes before their shower. Tomorrow I'll try a shorter application time to see if there's much difference. Today though gave me the smoothest, easiest, & most irritation-free I've ever had and it was just plain ol' fun. What a GREAT way to start the day out. Too many men out there are completely missing out on all of this joy! Thanks again to Steve for sending me this sample and thanks to JoAnna for making an amazing product. I look forward to using this regularly. BTW, check out the frost on the Aqua Velva. That's right, I get it right out of the freezer!

We might need to start looking for a larger wagon!

Wednesday, July 20, 2011- Prep: TSD ISZ PreShave Balm, hot shower w/ cold finish, hand strop blade
- Cream: C.O. Bigelow w/ 7 drops glycerin
- Brush: Frank Shaving Fine Badger
- Razor: Gem Micromatic Clog Pruf
- Blade: Walgreen's Gem (3), 3 passes
- Post: Ice cube rinse, Aqua-Velva Ice Blue, Hand strop blade
- Shave Rating: 5/5 Another excellent shave with the Clog Pruf
I wasn't able to leave the TSD ISZ PreShave Balm on as long this time. I basically got up, put the PSB on, then got in the shower. I still could tell an improvement in how easy the shave was compared to not using the PSB. The cold feeling on my face is just excellent and I love starting my day off this way. My neck is really starting to calm down and look great now that I'm stringing some consecutive irritation-free shaves together. I don't think it's looked this good since before I started "having" to shave!

Gem MM Clog Pruf Gem SS/PFTE Blade (1) Made-Rite 500 PB Brush Proraso Cream Barbasol Brisk
I was pressed for time this morning and opted for a one-pass (XTG) shave with touch-up rather than my customary two-pass with touch up. I figured I could get away with it if I used a new blade. The result: a close and VERY comfortable shave. It's nice to know that I have this option available on days when I'm short on time. ______________ Jeff
