Would anyone want to one day do a bulk buy or find a source for such a buy?

Not a bad idea for someday. I would most likely not take part cause I have enough Ted Pella blades to last me a lifetime. But perhaps others would. Give the site some time to mature and I bet you will see it happening.

I am pretty close to needing some more Pella Gems. Probably a month or two...

Special K,
I have a unique situation with the blades I use. I do the hand stropping that Dave has recommended and get 14 shaves from my Gillette 7 O'clock SharpEdge DE blades and I get 7 shaves from the Pella Gem SE blades. Another reason it will take me so long to use up all my blades is that I change style of razors each day. DE one day and SE the next. So it is usually nearly a month between DE blade changes and 2 weeks between SE blade changes. With a previous bulk order of both style of blades it will take me more than a few years to use up 100 SharpEdge and 200 Pellas.

I do the hand stropping myself but can't get quite as many shaves... Usually its about 5 or 6 from a Pella Gem. I was able to get 13 out of the last Gillette Platinum ('swede') used!

How do you get that many shaves on a blade?
I can strop with an ER stropper I can strop with a Valet I can hand strop
the best I can ever do is 3-4 shaves on a Pella and 2-3 shaves on a carbon blade.
I am down to maybe 20 Pella blades, perhaps I will join in on a bulk buy when the time comes.

Bong got the last group buy direct from Pella. www.tedpella.com/dissect_html/dissect.htm#anchor1606431That's the only SE blade that I have found to agree with my face. I've heard about the Feathers but never seen where you can buy those from. Does anyone know a vendor just to get a few for sample?

What I get is much the same as you Justin. Fuzzy

Dave are those the ones that will fit the razor that has valet cut out on it.. I mean the one with the tabs in the name that fit the cut on the blade? If so I need a few for the cigar cutter I picked up. Fuzzy

Fuzzy,
They look the same to me and also the description is right. But they are a bit expensive. For about $10 more you get twice as many blades from Ted Pella. Even if you would split an order with another guy the additional postage to send half of the order to the other guy would not be anywhere near the $10 saved by getting them from Pella.

Thanks for the offer Dave. I might hit you up once I get a lather catcher. How do the Feathers perform in comparison to the Gems?
