Wednesday I honed the Feather SE blade - awkward, but there it is... its still going How was the shave with it after the honing? Fuzzy It was better - not great but better. I need to rig something to hold those blades at the correct angle to do this properly. I tried using three layers of electric tape on the spine and fitting it in a stopping handle. That worked OK, but the angle was too steep. I tried just layers of electric tape, but it was awkward to hone without a handle. Will think about it more....

Yes Fuzzy, I used one of those Korean blades. If I remember correctly, the last time they were tried I found them very rough and not too sharp. Certainly not worth using again. Today, before using the blade, I made 50 passes with an ER stropper on the blade. It made a difference. The blade was smoother and didn't feel like it rough spots. However, the blade still wasn't that sharp. Shave is acceptable but I like it closer.

Excellent shave woo hoo! At least now when the paramedics pick me up from the side of ski slope, they will be able to say what an excellent shave I had. (going skiing for the first time today, it can very well happen)

Excellent shave woo hoo! At least now when the paramedics pick me up from the side of ski slope, they will be able to say what an excellent shave I had. (going skiing for the first time today, it can very well happen) If you manage to stand up your first time skiing you already ahead of the game Congrats on the shave and have fun on the slopes ;D Can't say that I managed to stay standing up every time. I tweaked my knee getting off of the rope pull in the morning. At that point I only made a few more runs before lunch and a handful more after lunch before I decided that the knee couldn't take much more. Good thing I quit when I did, it is painful and popping but I can still walk on it. Anyway.. .for today's shave: Sunday:- Soap: Godrej
- Brush: Semogue LE #56
- Razor: Modified Valet Autostrop & unmodified Gem Blue Star (#1)
- A/S: WH followed by Iced TSD Signature
