Thanx for the info Kevin. I am sorry to hear that even someone as skilled as Lynn cannot put an edge on these. It is very good to know that though, thank you. That settles it for me.
I guess we will just have to stick with stropping followed by a somewhat "tuggy" shave. Oh well, it is still totally cool, and I, like you, will refer to it as a DFS!

Sadly, It appears that these blades can not be honed at all. I sent one off to Lynn at SRP and he said that he can not hone them. He asked around and could not find anyone that did either. The stropping does help but I do not think they get as sharp as a modern SE but that is okay. It is still cool getting a DFS from a beauty like these razors. I talked with Mr. Abrams as well in chat a few weeks ago and he told me that he doesn't hone any SE, I figured that they had another person that had experience with them. Did they tell you that only this particular blade couldn't be honed or did they simply say they couldn't hone a razor like this? either way I am still going to give it a try when I get a few more shaves out of it and see if I can get it popping hairs again. I will keep you all posted of any progress I make though it will be slow to forthcoming

Kevin, I hope you got $20 refund considering... If I ever get one of these I'll post up if I have any luck with honing.

Yup...It was refunded and sent back in a timely manner. Just need to find a K12 attachment for the Allegro and hone it up myself one of these days.
