I see that on a certain auction site pucks of Colgate shave soap are going for a pretty penny..hummm I got 8 pucks. If I keep them I might be able to retire off the income in a few years.

huh.....
I took a plunge and bought a pack of 8 of the barber style colgate soap.. but that won't get here for a while.
If you find there is someplace to order the regular stuff, it would be good to know.

I would love to try the old barber shop stuff. I do not think that you can order the stuff I have. We will see. Fuzzy

Colgate Barber soap cakes arrived today. I was worried about mold at first. it had that smell... but that was just a musty smell to outer paper wrapping. The wax paper was deteriorated and stuck to the pucks, so I removed it and re-wrapped them in fresh parchment paper. I cleaned off one of the pucks and tossed it in a mug. Did a part of test runs... It certainly appears to want a LOT of water. There is almost no smell to these old pucks. Who knows how old they are, they are discolored with age and came with a reproduction of a 1944 add that shows the same roll of barbers cakes. Hopefully I will update this tomorrow after I have a chance to shave with it.

I did something that I usually don't do. Today, I threw my brush in the mug with the soap and soaked them together. Like I said these cakes are old and have probably dried out a bit over the years. It gave lots of great, moist lather. It protected enough and had enough slide that I could barely feel a Rolls Razor at work. If the soap ever had any scent to it, it has long since lost the scent. I don't have a problem with that at all, I am just letting you know.
