I have 3 of those.. two with the plastic handles one is metal. I have one the is just like that NOS never used.. They are awesome shaving razors. the 1912 head is outstanding. I use one of them as my travel razor.
Great score and I would have paid that... I actually started to put a $30 bid on it, but picked up another set instead.

My local pharmacy stocks the SE blades...I just did not know if they were any good.

If they say "GEM by Personna on them you are just fine. Also if they are Blue Star by GEM they will okay, not as good as the Personna blades but passable. Stay away from the store brands as they are mostly only good for scraping stuff off glass!

I am using some Blue Star's now as a matter of fact. Fuzzy

They are really just carbon steel yes?? Not treated, and therefore sharpenable in the old fashioned sharpening devices. The only shaving blades I can get in my town are the Wilkinson double edge blades at Walmart for $11.00 for ten. And they suck. That is about it. Anything else I gotta pay through the nose for and get shipped up. I am thinking about sandpaper shaving next - at least I can get that here!! I don't want to say I am jealous, that would be juvenile. So I will just imply it! That is far more adult! ;D

Thank you Bryce. The Ted Pella blades arrived this afternoon and I am looking forward to giving them a test run in the next day or two. ;D I hope you like that razor as much as I like mine. As for the Gem Blue Star blades they are not really blue. The PAL Super's that I picked up the other day from the gas station are . I think the Gem's shave just fine. Not sure yet how many shaves I will get from one. Fuzzy

That is a great picture Ivan.. They have the wrong blades in the kit though. Mine is NOS and came with blades marked "For US Armed Forces Only". Those double edge blades are for the Micro Matic.
Still they are great shaving razors and make a great travel set.
Do you live around there? If I could get an address I would send them the proper box of blades for the set.
